Altar training

March 10th, 2018

Altar Ministry exists to facilitate an encounter with God to the congregants at Dream City Church. When we pray with others, we are facilitating an exchange between God and the person(s) being prayed for.

This training will share the vision of DCC, allow you to understand how to minister with the aid of Holy Spirit, and the support of the altar captain, as you are obedient and know situations are changing for God's glory because of prayer.

If you are undecided if you should attend the training, but wish to learn more, please come, as this is the only altar training scheduled for 2018, and perhaps you will decide to volunteer at a later time. To volunteer on the altar team, one must have attended the training first.

The training will be held in the backstage room behind the auditorium on the Phoenix campus.

No childcare will be provided.

Please bring a beverage along with your tablet, computer, or paper and pen for note taking.

Blessings, Peter Henneberry

FOCUS OF THE CAMP

Musical Theater is truly a unique art form. It interweaves three major performance styles - acting, singing, dancing. In the theater business, a performer who is a "triple threat" has successfully mastered these three styles. Through educational games & activities, campers will explore character development, improvisation, stage presence, public speaking, auditioning, proper singing technique, basic musicianship, various theater dance styles and more. To culminate their experience, campers will rehearse a one-act musical featuring many popular Broadway songs to present for their final showcase performance.

A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP

Upon arrival, students participate in an opening warm up session that includes movement, educational games, and activities. In groups, the students then rotate through three sessions. Each session uses exercises, games, and activities to teach and reinforce specific stage presence and performance skills:

  1. Acting (character development; script interpretation; awareness of the stage environment; auditioning; improvisation; ensemble work)
  2. Singing (proper breathing and vocal production techniques; projection and diction; reading musical notation; basic musicianship)
  3. Dancing (musical theater movement; production choreography; elements of several dance styles)

After a 10-15 minute snack and bathroom break, the remaining time is devoted to rehearsal for the production.

Click "Register Now" above to register. (When registering, use the child's current grade for the 2017-2018 school year.)

Freedom big 0

Freedom Spring 2018

June 10th - June 30th, 2018

WHAT IS FREEDOM?

Freedom is a four-week course that teaches you how to hear God’s voice, break free from your past, and become the person you were created to be.

Freedom consists of three weekly classes followed by an on-campus retreat. The teachings are God-focused – not problem focused. True freedom is not the absence of our problems but the presence of Someone. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom." (2 Corinthians 3:17) As we learn to hear, believe, and obey the truth about our past, present, and future, God begins to set us free.

WHO IS FREEDOM FOR?

Freedom is for everyone who wants to experience "life to the full" as Jesus described in John 10:10.

WHAT IS THE COST?

There is no cost to attend Freedom classes or the Freedom Retreat, but registration is required.

IS THERE CHILDCARE?

Childcare is provided on the Sunday mornings. Childcare will not be provided on the Saturday session.
